Annick Verween is an ecosystem connector, bringing problems towards solutions, questions towards experts and she uses this ecosystem approach as a support towards entrepreneurs, saving them time, money and allowing them to grow better and faster. She a true extravert with a passion for people, biotechnology, entrepreneurship, innovation and impact. She manages biotope, the preseed fund and linked support program for diverse, early stage biotech startups impacting planetary health to grow their venture. She has been working in the field for more than 15 years, first as a business developer, matching company requests with R&D opportunities on one hand and supporting valorisation of research on the other hand. She worked at EIT Food before joining VIB, where she initiated, grew and managed a European network of 70 impactful scaleups in the field, the RisingFoodStars.
