María Jesús Abellán is an economist holding a Master’s degree in Industrial Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
She began her professional journey at the Research Department of the National Telecommunications Commission, where she developed a strong foundation in economic policy and sectoral analysis. She later joined ICEX Spain Trade and Investment, where she has spent more than 15 years supporting the international expansion of Spanish companies across a variety of roles, including serving as Head of Public Procurement.
For the past four years, she has led the Agrifoodtech Department, where she plays a key role in fostering the internationalisation of companies across the agri-food value chain. In this capacity, she also oversees the development and implementation of specialised programmes aimed at supporting emerging companies within the AgriFoodTech ecosystem.
