Dr Alicia Showering has a BSc in Biosciences from the University of Liverpool, an MSc in Epidemiology and a PhD in Disease Control from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is motivated by the damage insects cause in agriculture and human health, and founded BugBiome to bring microbial alternatives to market.
BugBiome works at the intersection of microbiology, entomology, and agronomy to discover and develop microbial solutions to protect crops from pests. From discovery to field validation, Alicia is passionate about transforming promising activity into reliable products. At BugBiome, they accelerate candidates through screening, development, trials and partnerships to bring effective biologicals to growers.
