As part of Novo Holdings’ Planetary Health Investments team, Dr Sophia Heyde specializes in late-stage growth and private equity investments in science-driven greentech companies, focusing on agtech, food tech, novel materials, and industrial biotech.
Sophia’s experience includes venture creation and R&D roles in greentech startups, along with project coordination for a large EU initiative on carbon capture, around building a first-of-its-kind demonstration plant in Norway for a fermentation-based CCU process. Sophia holds a Ph.D. in synthetic biology from DTU, with research experience at Novozymes (DK), the Joint BioEnergy Institute (US), UNSW (AUS), Oxford (UK), and TU Darmstadt (DE).
