Inez van Oord is the co-founder of FiberFoods, an impact-driven company established in 2019 in Kampala. Alongside co-founder Ineke Aquarius, Inez has been instrumental in developing PrimeJack®, a 100% natural, meat-like ingredient derived from dehydrated young jackfruit. This innovative product rehydrates to eight times its weight and serves as a sustainable, fiber-rich alternative in various meat, fish, and vegetarian products.
FiberFoods has expanded its operations from East Africa to the Netherlands, introducing PrimeJack® to the European market. The company focuses on creating economic, social, and sustainable value for all stakeholders, working closely with local farmers and partners to scale sustainable sourcing and production.
Inez is a strong advocate for women’s leadership and economic empowerment and FiberFoods has been at the forefront of creating jobs for women in Uganda, particularly in agro-processing and sustainable food production. By providing training, employment, and leadership opportunities, she ensures that women play a central role in transforming food systems and building resilient communities. Fiber Foods’ initiatives not only contribute to gender equality but also drive social and economic development in the region.
