In our 8th edition of F&A Next, we addressed the topic of ‘Adapting Consumption Within Planetary Boundaries‘. The food and agriculture industry is facing a daunting challenge on different fronts: reducing greenhouse gas emissions and food waste, and limiting freshwater consumption and soil depletion to restore biodiversity, our ecosystems and livelihoods. All this while the planet’s population continues to grow. This year, F&A Next hosted over 750 participants who have accepted this challenge and are actively working on innovative solutions to the problems we are facing.
Supplying a sufficient and healthy diet for 10 billion people while keeping our biosphere intact requires radically different ways of producing and consuming food. To speed up impactful transition, we need partnerships and capital that champion breakthrough innovations and facilitate dietary changes. It’s only through a collective effort that we can achieve a sustainable food system.
We’ve had many inspiring speakers, great panel discussions and, of course, the 10 Next Heroes in Food & AgTech 2023 pitching on stage. Special topics included developing relationships between startups and investors, the adoption of alternative proteins, defining carbon footprint in Food & Ag, restoring biodiversity, climate smart agriculutre, regenerative agriculutre innovation, the role of artifical intelligence, and circularity.
Whether you want to relive the moment, or see what you may have missed, below you will find some highlights and impressions of the event.
